How to start a conversation with a girl?

Im a 16 year old boy and I like this girl and she knows it because my friends told her
I kind of sort of talk to her but not all the time and when we do talk she always starts it
and i tihnk shes starting to stop talking to me because I guess i never start talking to her

But how do I start a conversation with her I always want to but get all nervous and just back down

try complimenting her on something, not appearance
just the small things guys usually wouldn’t notice
like what she could be wearing for example
may it be a bracelet, watch, necklace, etc.
it shows that you interested in her, and it’s a good conversation starter as well.
